About this Workshop

This workshop is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about or experiencing Indigenous Peacemaking, Mediation, and Restorative Justice. It is also aimed at practitioners in these fields who would like to expand their practice at the intersections and with people who share a similar vision of our purpose in this work.

We will gather at the Zucigim farm just south of Half Moon Bay at mid-summer with three expert practitioners of Mediation, RJ, and Peacemaking Circles to gain experience in these traditions and practices, and explore how they inform and inspire us in our collective efforts for a peaceful world.

Workshop Contents

The workshop begins with the opening, creation and setting of space and expression of collective values. Facilitators will lead the group in exploring what is at the core of our practice, in terms of our approaches and our purpose and goals as individuals and as a collective.

Through exercises, discussions, and circle rounds, the workshop will highlight the differences and intersections of the three areas of practice: Mediation, Restorative Justice and Indigenous Peacemaking with the aim of deepening cross-cultural understanding, and promoting mutual respect and support. Ultimately, we will discuss what we can do through our work to build peace in families, neighborhoods and communities.

Participants will share meals at lunch time and experience a circle around the fire on Thursday evening.

Price: $850.
