Social Services
SEEDS does not provide direct social services such as food assistance, rental support, or legal representation. As part of our commitment to community care, we share the following list of resources available to residents of Alameda County. Those outside Alameda County are encouraged to seek support through local organizations and county-based resources.
General Services
Alameda Alliance offers Medi-Cal members extra support with coordinating care, managing health needs, and connecting to community resources. It’s a free service to help you get the care and support you need.
Alameda County Social Services
ACSSA provides a wide safety‑net of services to individuals, families, seniors, and people with disabilities across Alameda County. Their supports include food and health‑benefit programs (like CalFresh, Medi‑Cal, cash aid), housing and emergency‑shelter assistance, benefits and SSI/SSDI advocacy, job training and employment help, elder/adult‑care support, and child/family services.
Housing
Housing Authority of the County of Alameda
HACA provides rental assistance programs, affordable housing resources, and support services to help residents find and maintain safe, stable housing.
Alameda County Independent Living Program
Alameda County ILP offers foster youth and young adults support with housing, education, employment, and life-skills training to help them transition successfully into independent adulthood.
Alameda County Housing Secure
Alameda County Housing Secure provides assistance to prevent homelessness, including help with eviction defense, rental support, and legal aid for tenants facing housing instability.
Food Security
Alameda County Community Food Bank
Alameda County Community Food Bank connects individuals and families with free groceries, nutrition assistance, and community food resources to help ensure everyone has access to healthy, reliable food.
Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay
VACCEB provides immigrant and refugee families with support services including food assistance, housing help, legal advocacy, senior programs, and community resources to promote stability and well-being.
San Lorenzo Family Help Center
San Lorenzo Family Help Center offers local families access to free food, basic necessities, and community support services to help meet essential needs and promote stability.
Immigration Services
Alameda County Immigration Legal Education Partnership
ACILEP provides free rapid‑response legal support, known‑your‑rights education, and immigration assistance to undocumented individuals and immigrant families in Alameda County. They operate a hotline (510‑241‑4011) to report enforcement actions, offer legal representation in deportation or detention cases, and run community workshops to help immigrants understand and protect their rights.
EBCLC provides free legal services and social‑work support to low‑income residents of Alameda County, focusing on issues like housing/tenant rights, eviction defense, immigration, public benefits, debt and consumer protection, and youth or education law.

Connects Alameda County residents to mental health and substance use services, offering screening, referrals, and information to help individuals find the right support.
Mental Health Association of Alameda County
Mental Health Association of Alameda County provides advocacy, support, and information to help individuals and families access mental health services, navigate care systems, and connect with community resources.
Telecare Corporation provides mental health and supportive services at multiple locations, including Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward, and Castro Valley, offering therapy, crisis support, and residential programs.
HEPPAC (Harm Reduction)
HIV Education and Prevention Project of Alameda County provides harm-reduction services, HIV/Hepatitis C testing, overdose prevention, and basic support to people in Alameda County. Their drop-in center and mobile outreach make help accessible to those who need it most.
Options Recovery offers substance‑use disorder treatment, sober housing, mental‑health counseling, and re‑entry support for individuals in Alameda County and the broader Bay Area. They provide outpatient treatment, clean and sober living environments, and supportive services including housing referrals, peer support, counseling, job‑readiness and re‑entry mentorship.
Family Paths is a non‑profit agency that supports families and children in Alameda County with mental‑health counseling, parenting support, and crisis help. They offer services such as a 24‑hour Parenting Stress Helpline, therapy for children and parents, parenting classes, foster‑parent advice, and referrals to hundreds of community resources.

Alameda County Workforce Development Board
ACWDB connects Alameda County residents with career training, job placement, and support services while helping local employers find skilled workers. Their programs assist adults, youth, and job seekers at all experience levels.
Domestic
Violence
Provides legal assistance, safety planning, and crisis support for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Helps with restraining orders and navigating the legal system.”
A shelter and support organization offering emergency housing, counseling, and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. Focuses on safety, healing, and long-term stability.
Provides culturally informed family support, including counseling, parenting programs, and resources for families affected by violence or stress. Specializes in serving immigrant and API (Asian & Pacific Islander) communities.
