Online Restorative Justice 101 Workshop for Workplaces and Organizations

                         About the Workshop

This is a professional skill-building program that is both practical and structured and specifically designed for:

  • non-profit leaders and executive directors

  • program managers

  • DEI leaders

  • human resources specialists 

Focusing on workplaces and organizations, this workshop presents frameworks for building and strengthening teams, and accountability and repair when conflict/harm occurs. 

 

Participants will come away with advanced skills in holding difficult conversations and bringing people together to design pathways for resolution. 

This workshop includes 20 hours of online engagement, and five hours of asynchronous learning. 

Ultimately, participants will have the opportunity to envision ways of bringing RJ and RP into their communities/spaces/teams as part of a conscious effort to develop caring and supportive cultures and structures in workplaces and organizations. 

                         

                         Content of the Workshop 

 

Learn about and practice tools and skills of restorative leadership:

  • giving and receiving feedback,

  • creating cultures where accountability is supported,

  • shifting approaches to power, authority and discipline. 

Engage through an experiential learning approach, with lots of participation and practice in:

  • developing shared values and community agreements

  • engaging in individual and collective self-reflection

  • inclusive decision making & planning for action and/or change.

 

Explore your own relationship to conflict in order to develop:

  • skills drawn from mediation, restorative justice, and non-violent

  • communication frameworks

  • self-knowledge needed for navigating differences in

  • approaches to conflict and communication.

Become a confident facilitator for:

  • restorative conversations between two people,

  •  "holding space” for groups, teams and communities who have experienced conflict and harm.

Mariah Foote-Jackson has years of experience working with non-profit organizations that provide RJ trainings and resources for workplaces, organizations and schools. She brings a focus on strengthening relationships through exercises and play, and a deep belief in the power of RJ practices and processes.

Julie "Juls" Shackford-Bradley brings her extensive experience providing RJ services and trainings in workplaces and higher education. Over the years, she has met the needs of clients by developing frameworks and structures for expanding psych safety, improving communication, especially around feedback, and providing restorative responses for conflict and harm.
