Chad Montgomery
Chad-Eric Montgomery is an educator, academic leader, and community advocate whose work centers on education, empowerment, and equitable access to opportunity. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and African American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Master of Arts in Mathematics from San Francisco State University.
Background
As a mathematics professor at the College of Alameda, Chad is committed to making education practical, relevant, and transformative. His teaching emphasizes real-world application, critical thinking, and financial literacy, helping students understand how mathematics connects to business, entrepreneurship, and everyday decision-making. He is known for developing innovative, project-based curriculum that integrates creativity and ownership, including financial modeling, statistics applied to real industries, and entrepreneurial case studies that empower students to see themselves as leaders and problem-solvers.
Chad’s work extends beyond higher education through his leadership in community-based programs. He serves as the administrator of Quality Care Adult Program, where he supports adaptive skills training, behavioral development, and workforce readiness for adults with developmental disabilities, reflecting his deep commitment to inclusive education and dignity-centered support.
